Collective Compute projects and challenges are a way for students to get excited not just about hands-on technology, but a career in robotics. This experience is so valuable because it allows students to explore skills that lead to careers in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, IT, trades (electricians, construction), and other technical areas. If students had a chance to be involved in projects that excite them, they would be more interested in pursuing careers in these fields.
